Eliminating the use of toxic chemicals is an important component of environmentally friendly cleaning, but don't stop there! Another important element of green cleaning is choosing the tools that you'll use. Consider using a recycled wet mop and a recycled dust mop that are made from 100% recycled material, can be washed dozens of times and allow you to get the floor cleaner with less effort. Other great green cleaning tools are microfiber mops and microfiber towels. Cleaning with microfiber can be very effective without using any chemicals at all! Plus, they'll last hundreds and hundreds of washings when cared for properly. You should also consider a recycled plastic mop bucket that's ergonomically designed, if workers don't have to bend over to ring out a mop and don't have to lift a heavy bucket to empty the cleaning solution as often, they're going to be less prone to back injury!

I’ve recently discovered another great use for Microfiber Towels, cleaning up pet stains. We recently had a new addition to our family, a 9 week old Akita pup named Kyo. He’s a great dog, but like most puppies when he gets excited he can’t seem to hold it in. That’s where microfiber cloths come in. I’ve been using folded 12”x12” microfiber towel to blot up the urine, then pouring water over the stain and blotting that up with another towel. When I’m finished with it you can’t smell an odor at all. I’ve also been keeping a Microfiber Wet Mop and Handle & Frame a handy to quickly clean up any mess he makes on the hardwood floors or tile. The Microfiber Mop is great at soaking up the stain and leaving it dry, then I go over it again with another mop pad and a disinfectant.
