The current approach to carbon management is that carbon emissions should be saved where possible and offset where they cannot be saved. Various brokers sell carbon offsets via the internet—with popular offerings including funding tree planting projects, support of wind farms and other renewable energy sources, and methane gas collection/combustion.

If you think products on the shelves of your local market are “safe” because the government has your health and safety in mind, think again. Since October, in the United States alone, numerous complaints have been made against government agencies including the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and others for shocking policy decisions and messy politics that have led to unsafe products reaching consumers and policies that clearly do not have the health and safety of individuals in mind. Great publicity was given to China’s recent issue involving baby formula, but many similar issues world-wide are occurring without hype and news reporting.
