Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines director Ferdinand Raquelsantos said that they are planning to mass produce a locally designed and developed E-Jeepney in the coming months.

The E-Jeepney has been developed by them in conjunction with Green Renewable Independent Power Producer (GRIPP). This locally developed E-Jeepney is currently being pilot tested in the Legaspi Village route in Makati City.

UK’s Global Green Power planning 5 biomass project in the Philippines



Global Green Power is eyeing a total of $200 Million worth of renewable energy projects in the Philippines. This is in the form of 5 Biomass powerplants rated to produce a total of 87.5 MW. This is but part of a $1B package that the company is planning to expend in the Philippines emerging renewable energy sector.

The five 17.5 MW biomass power plants will be situated in Panay, Samar, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan. The projects are located in the Visayan and Luzon islands.

How to Make Biodiesel at Home



Here’s a great set of video’s created by Graydon Blair over at expertvillage showing how one can go about making biodiesel for personal use. In a nutshell, making biodiesel is a process of putting catalyst to vegetable oil that will product a chemical reaction resulting in the separation of biodiesel from glycerin.

Chemrez revenues up due to local biodiesel sales



Listed biodiesel processor, Chemrez Technologies, announced that in the nine months of operations in 2008 its consolidated income was flat but revenues were up due to sales of its environment friendly products. Chemrez is expecting to supply 65% of the local biodiesel requirement of the Philippines as dictated by the Philippine Biofuel Law.
