Yahoo!, the Internet giant best known for free email and a profitable online advertising model has been stretching into a relatively new Internet arena - web pages focused on green marketing, green content, and sustainable products. The Northern California based company has been producing its Yahoo! Green website since the beginning of the green marketing craze that is now sweeping across Silicon Valley and the Internet faster than an electrically powered Toyota Prius hybrid speeding down the highway.

Parents brought their children's toys to a city funded environmental center in San Francisco to be tested for lead and other harmful toxins. The toys were tested with a tool called an X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer, or XRF, which can detect even trace amounts of lead and other toxic chemicals. |

The signs of global warming are all around us. Heightened summer temperatures, prolonged and dangerous forest fire seasons, catastrophic storms and floods like those brought by hurricane Katrina, and unprecedented droughts around the world. As the temperatures rise, so do the greenhouse gas emissions that are pumped into the atmosphere daily by industry, governments, and individuals driving their oversized and unneeded SUVs.
But even as the evidence of global warming and the impending potential environmental catastrophe continues to grow, people are often reluctant to admit to themselves or others that the effects of global warming are a phenomena that must be dealt with.
