Principal, Michelle Van de Voorde, is a native Californian and experienced world traveler, her work combines a passion for the plant kingdom along with influences of natural stone, rich woods, and metals.
Michelle’s work has been lauded for its subtle complexity and spiritual sensitivity. She has won a variety of awards, including the prestigious Pacific Horticulture Magazine Award at the San Francisco Garden Show two years in a row, along with several other accolades. Her work has been featured in a number of publications including Sunset’s Secret Gardens, WaterShapes Magazine and Pool & Spa News.
Michelle’s work is infused with a passion for creating comfortable and deeply integrated garden spaces for her clients. Her unique, collaborative design process enables her to create spaces that are carefully tailored to the desires of her clients and the unique qualities of each setting. Her work often features voluptuous curvilinear shapes and richly composed planting palettes, often enhanced by subtle water features.
“Landscape architecture is like a beautiful dance,” she says. “I create master-plan sketches on-site with the client’s input at every stage. When I return to my studio, I know the final design drawings will be everything they’re looking for.”
